Mind and body

Old thinking: the Body is servant to the Mind. The conscious Mind is the Person, the Self, the one in charge, and the Body provides a two-way communication bridge to the outside world. The Subconscious is a covert, often subversive part of the Mind.

Contemporary thinking: The Subconscious more or less equates with the Body. The Body/Subconscious is the Person, the Self, the one in charge, and the Mind scans the Body's myriad sensory inputs and resultant activities through a narrow window of consciousness. And then, post factum, claims credit!
